Try Dutch Accent Braids This Summer

Try A Dutch Accent Braid This Summer-- Sometimes called inside out or reverse braids, Dutch braids are an easy + elegant way to add eye-catching detail to any summer hairstyle | hair by goldplaited

Summer in Chicago means beautiful weather, weekends at the beach, rooftop bars, and dutch accent braids (at goldplaited, anyways)! We love the texture and detail they bring to these half-up, half-down looks, especially in the way they bring out our hair models' subtle highlights.

Sometimes called inside-out or reverse braids, Dutch braids follow the same braiding pattern as French braids (starting with three strands and adding hair as you go), but instead of braiding the added sections over, you braid them under. This gives the braid more of a 3D feel, whereas the French braid pattern lies flatter and looser.

Dutch braids are an easy way to add fun detail to any hairstyle, up or down! Click on the picture below for six Youtube tutorials featuring different Dutch braid hairstyles, or check out one of our goldplaited classes!
